Can you explain Extends: 8", height from center of junction box when glass is down: 3-1/2"?

A. Thank you for contacting us. I have reviewed your question and researched the information for you. It means the light would extend 8" from the wall and from center of where the junction box sits to the bottom of the light shades themselves would be 3 1/2". Thank you again.

How far do the shades extend below the bottom of the backplate?

A. I was able to call Kichler, and they do not have that exact measurement, however they did mention that shade is 4.6" from the center of the back plate.

I don't have the product yet, but now understand we cannot mount using junction box. The questions below indicate there are 2 outboard mounting screws. Will they be able to support the fixture without using junction as well?

A. The Kichler 5339 can be mounted to a standard junction box. There is a bracket that connects the mounting screws to the junction box.
