What is height from base to bottom - would this be appropriate for an 8ft floor to ceiling height?

A. The Kichler Seaside measures 19" in height when used with the 6" down rod. If you use the 12" down rod the total height will be 25".

Are the fan blades available in white?

A. The Kichler Seaside unfortunately comes as is as far as the blade length goes. The shortest downrod offered is the 6" that's included with the fan.

Is this available with dimmer for light?? Can you use the fan and not the light and vice versa? Also the 54" is the length from one blade across to to the other blade??

A. The Kichler Seaside cannot be dimmed. The light and fan can be used independently. Yes, 54" is the measurement across the fan from tip to tip.

A. The backplate diameter on this fixture is 4.75".
