is this a compression fit or threaded

The Kingston Brass CC4310 is 1/2" IPS X 3/8" compression.

What gauge is this? Also, can the red and blue dots be removed?

The Kingston Brass CC4310 is made out of brass. The hot and cold buttons can be removed however the screw to the handle will be exposed.

Is the angle stop something that is absolutely necessary in addition to the bridge faucet?

This is an angle stop for water supply lines. You do not necessarily need this for a faucet.
