720 CFM 30 Inch Wide Stainless Steel Under Cabinet Range Hood with Four Speed Electronic Controls and QuietMode- from the CH-27 Collection
I like it!
I bought this range hood to replace the one that came with the house. The old one was an one fan cheapie hood that you could easily purchase in any appliances store for $50. The old hood was only good at making noise.
I bought this Kobe range hood from Builds.com with a 10% off coupon code that I got from their website. The delivery was within 10 days. Everything was packaged nicely and there was no problem.
I have been searching for a range hood for while. I was going to go with Consumer Report's recommendation but I really like the way this Kobe range hood look. So I bought it.
First of all, it functions well. It took out the smoke when I was grilling steaks and chops. Secondly, it has a solid built and beautiful appearance. The metal filters come out easily and they can be washed in the dishwasher. It is quiet in its lowest and second setting, but it's very loud when it's at the highest setting. When it said it's 4.5 sones at setting 4, I think it's louder than that. I am okay with it because my old one was loud too. I would rather put up with the noise than the smoke inside my kitchen. When I cook food that is not smokey, I use the lowest setting.
Installation instruction is not clear. You have to figure some stuff out. I had to cut out the hole in the plastic vent plate with a utility knife. I had to knock out the screw holes with a screw driver and a hammer. Other than that, I would say the installation was fairly easy. Please note that this range hood is heavy. It needs two people to lift it. I used a kitchen garbage can and towels to support the range hood on top of my stove. I had a friend to hold it and I put the screws in. Screws don't come with the range hood. You have to buy them. Buy 1.5 or 2 inch self tapping wood screws, depending on the thickness of your wood cabinet.
A powerful two fan range hood is about 500 dollars (Pacair, Hurricane). I paid more for this range hood because I like the "professional" look. If you like the way it looks and willing to spend a little extra, I would definitely recommend this range hood.

Kobe Really Exhales!!
This vent is excellent. It's stylish and it's easy to get the grills off to clean (in fact too easy......hold onto the handle before removing the grill or it will fall onto your cooktop). It provides a lot of light over your cooktop and on quiet mode, you can barely hear it. On high, as others have said, you cannot carry on a conversation. I had it installed over my induction cooktop, and actually bought it to exhaust the smoke/steam from my wall oven, about 5 feet away, that constantly sets off our smoke alarm whenever I broil. Although it still sets off, when the Kobe is on high exhaust, the screeching of my smoke alarm stops faster. One thing that is curious....there are two "on" buttons for the fans. Neither starts on high & goes to low and the rationale for this is beyond me. There is no owner's manual other than installation instructions. So I just have learned to hit one of the buttons first and then hit it again to put the fan on high.

quiet and stylish
We really like this range hood. It is super quiet on whisper mode and strong enough on regular mode for all sorts of high smoke cooking. Haven't had it long enough (2 months now) to comment on ease of cleaning but so far, it is doing its job and doing it well while looking very clean and smooth in our kitchen.
