QuietMode™: Maintaining sanity in a busy kitchen can often be a challenge, and the noise pollution generated by range hood ventilation never helps. This is why Kobe has introduced QuietMode™. Operating at 330 CFM, this feature allows for a reduced sound level of 42 decibels (1.2 sone), allowing you to efficiently vent your kitchen while still being able to hold a conversation. In comparison, most other hoods operate at between six to eight times that sound level at a comparable CFM level, making Kobe range hoods some of the most quietly effective range hoods on the market.
Oil Cup Drainage System: Strategically placed oil cups under each safety-screened impeller collect oil and residue directly from sealed oil tunnels. Easy to clean and maintain, you can remove and clean each oil cup without having to disassemble the range hood.

RA3830SQ: 30" Wide RA-038-SQ Range Hood (This Model)
I am interested in this hood. Can it be vented out the side? We have 10' ceilings; will I need an extension? To install as a wall mount it appears I'll need the duct cover? Thanks very much.
A. The KOBE RA3830SQ can be vented out the top or back, but not out the side. To do a wall mount with a 10' ceiling you will need a duct cover extension.
What are the sizes of the duct covers? I live in a house built in 1930 and there is a built in area for the range where the top of that area is lower than the ceiling. I think this hood may work if I can get it to be the correct height. Thanks!
A. The KOBE RA3830SQ is compatible with two different duct covers. The RA1020DC is adjustable from 20-5/8" to 39-5/8" and is for a standard installation. The RA1020RD is adjustable from 20-3/4" to 34-3/4" and is for recirculating installations.
Is this range convertible to 7" exhaust duct work?
A. The KOBE RA3830SQ could be converted with a duct adapter.
Can the Kobe RA3830SQ be outfitted w/a recirculating filter (not outside venting)? Can it be installed directly under a cabinet without the "tube" going up?
A. The KOBE RA3830SQD is the ductless version of that piece and can be installed directly under a cabinet.
I like the looks of this Kobe, but I would like one that is under the counter without the duct cover showing. Can this be done with the RA3830SQ?
A. You will want to look at the RA3830SQD for an undercabinet application.
What would be the proper measurement from the range to the bottom part of the hood that is needed for installation?
A. The KOBE RA3830SQ must be installed 27" to 30" away from the top of your cooktop.
Is this hood approved for out door use?
A. The KOBE RA3830SQ is not recommended for use outdoors.
Like many retailers, Build.com can choose to set its own prices independently. And even though manufacturers require Build.com and other retailers to display a product's "minimum advertised price" (or MAP), the retailer can choose to sell for less than that. But the price must be conveyed in other ways, and each individual manufacturer's MAP policy determines where the price can be seen.
To see the price for this product at Build.com, you'll need to place it in your shopping cart, and maybe even proceed to final checkout. If you're not ready to buy the product, simply remove it from the cart.
Build.com apologizes for any inconvenience. We'd just like to offer you the chance to save extra money while we adhere to manufacturers' MAP policies. Build.com is also working to educate manufacturers on how their policies impact customers and their buying behavior.
