60" Three Wall Alcove Curved Apron Soaking Tub with Right Hand Drain
Excellent lightweight bath tub
I have really enjoyed this new, lightweight fiberglass tub. It is wider and deeper than standard tubs--great for soaking! For installation purposes: the drain is in a different location than older tubs (further away from the back wall) because it is a wider tub. This required jackhammering the concrete floor out make room for drain. The overflow valve and drain have some "play" in them to agle toward the old pea-trap, but this did add extra time for the plumber to install. Also, it would have been nice to have the tub fully covered in peel-off plastic to avoid scratches after installing. I had to use my own tape and plastic so the tile installers did not scratch the surface. I minor inconvenience, but something that should be done. This is a quality tub and has been a top-notch upgrade for my bathroom remodel!

Kohler 60" Curved Apron Tub-RHD
On the one hand, it's a tub. However, since it's not a porcelain, or cast tub, it's worth noting that it's a very sturdy and flawless piece of fiberglass. If I had a wish, it would be that it had come with a foam insulation sprayed on its underside to help maintain the temperature of the water.
As part of a guest bath overhaul, I installed this tub in place of a 20 year old, 1 pc., fiberglass tub/shower unit which had very dated sliding glass shower doors. Its clean lines look great and the added volume in combination with a curved shower rod will give those who shower, much more elbow room. I would recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

We just had the tub installed...love the look. not sure how it will work as a tub, since I haven't finished with the plumbing, but if it works anything like it looks, I'm sure I will be happy. My contractor said the install was very easy, in case you were thinking of doing this on your own.
