Kohler K-12177 Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy this Faucet!! I loved this faucet 5 years ago and paid $299 for two (hello $600) for our kitchen which has 2 sinks. The things are a total mess. My plumber said NEVER buy Kohler, they are terrible and he is always replacing them. Unless you are looking to spend another $300 in five years go with another brand. Now I'm shopping again... drat!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A bit disappointing I bought this because I liked the style, but I am not that happy with the faucet. Cons: Sprayer switch is fiddly. It is a soft plastic that immediately showed fingernail marks, and none of us have long fingernails. Hard to clean. Lots of grooves and rings that are hard to clean around. VERY low flow. I don't hand-wash or rinse many dishes, so my main use of the faucet is to (gasp) get water out of it. It takes FOREVER to fill a pot or pitcher with this thing. Pros: The finish (stainless steel) seems very durable, and it isn't too hard to clean the screen at the base of the sprayer (we get a lot of granite grit from our well, so cleaning is a regular chore).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big problem The mounting screw ring (PN 1115287) and washer (PN 1128531) have been modified by Kohler for unknown reason. The ring and washer will not fit through the holes in Kohler sinks so if you are planning an undermount you will have to call Kohler customer support to get the proper screw ring (PN 78539) and washer (PN ?). It is not an easy task. They don't believe you at first, you have to ask for technical support. I have made five calls, gotten one wrong washer, and it has been 3 weeks and I still don't have the proper size washer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big disapointment On the plus side, I liked the design and the installation was easy but the plastic top of the faucet popped up less than a week after installation- witht no reason except the temperature of the water dilatating the metal - braking a piece of it on the way - so now I have a brand new faucet with a broken top... :-(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but the supply hoses are too short I purchases my second polished chrome faucet for a remodel in the new (1906) house. The only problem is the hoses are too short -if you have shut off valves that are too far apart, or too low, or you have a higher than the standard 36 inch or an extra thick countertop with drop in sink.I used 2 standard faucet H.D. flex hoses and 2 Compression male adapters 3/8 inch O.D X 1/2 inch M.I.P by Do it from the local hardware store to lengthen the hoses that are built into the faucet.(Same solution I used last time).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Choice For A Faucet As with others it seems my faucet lost its' plastic button almost immediately. Also judging by the problems that we have experienced with the faucet, I can see why it only comes with a one year warranty. Overall I think that for what I got, I paid way too much!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great First purchase from FaucetDirect.com, and it was smooth. Saved about 25% from local stores, and shipping was very quick. Couldn't be more pleased with this faucet! Very solid construction and perfect finish to kitchen remodel. Went with the one hole installation on new granite with hammered copper sink. Looks great and you can't go wrong with Kohler quality. Installation took me about 15 minutes....very easy. Pullout sprayer is great. Some have a really cheap feel to the sprayer...not this one. If you are on the fence between this and other brands....buy this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great kitchen faucet I bought this as a replacement for a very expensive pull out faucet that could not be repaired when internal clogging caused the water pressure to reduce to a drizzle. It is good looking and well made and has all the features one wants in a pull out, kitchen sink, faucet. The design is classic and timeless and Kohler quality is the best. My only possible negative comment is that the pull out part is extremely light weight and feels like plastic. If it holds up over time then I will be 100% happy. In anycase, with Kohler, you have a lifetime warrenty and they will fix any problems. That's worth a lot!!

    A. The Kohler K-12177 has a spout reach of 9" from the center. The 6625 is a counter mount sink with no faucet holes. So, you can mount the faucet anywhere you wish. But, with only a 9" reach, we wouldn't recommend center mounting so you can have proper clearance to the smaller basin.
