Can it be supported on two legs instead of attached to the wall?
The Kohler K-12787 does not have legs that are made for it, it only has a wall bracket.

This sink is very substantial, well-made and beautiful for a laundry sink. It fits the character of our old house so much better than the plastic double sinks it replaced. It is very heavy so proper installation is a must.

do you need to use that tub attachement or can you just plumb it to a wall like a normal sink?
The Kohler K-12787 can be plumbed to a standard P-Trap like most sinks.
does this sink come with the mounting brackets included?
The Kohler K-12787 does not include the wall brackets. They are part number K-1814-P.
Are brackets necessary or optional for mounting?
The brackets are recommended for the Kohler K-12787 because this is a heavy sink.
Can this sink be used as a self-rimming sink set into cabinetry or must it be wall mounted?
The Kohler K-12787 is only recommended for wall-mount applications. A cabinet could be built around it, but should not be used for support. I hope this helps!
How is it different from the K-12700?
The Kohler K-12787 is a residential sink, and the K-12700 sink is commercial grade. The commercial grade meets different specifications and requirements, and also has to be installed differently.
