Does the faucet have a filter in it to provide filtered water? If so, do you need to purchase filters and how often?
The Kohler K-18865 is used with the K-200 filtration system. You need the change the cartridge every 3-6 months depending on use.

Fabulous faucet
Great design and excellent function. Love that it looks amazing and works well. It's simple and minimalist. The single handle swivels beautifully and you have a lot of control over the various temperature ranges. I strongly recommend purchasing a shallow sink if you buy this faucet. Its arc is very high so the water comes out like a water fall. If the sink is deep -- and mine is -- the water splashes everywhere. But this isn't a problem with the faucet. You need to know how to pair a faucet with a sink and I didn't think about its physics before I bought it. If you buy a shallow sink and pair this fantastic faucet with it, you'll be thrilled.

So what type of filter system is compatable with this faucet?
The Kohler K-18865 uses the K-200 AquiferTM water filtration system.
Do you have to use the filtration system feature? Can you use another make of filtration? Do you have any discount coupons I can use?
The Kohler K-18865 can be used without the filtration system. If you do want to use the filtration system, they only recommend the K-200. This is the only model that they know that will work for the K-18865.
Does this mean that the faucet can be used for regular water and then switched to deliver filtered water. Thus eliminating the need for two faucets. Does it also deliver regular hot water
The Kohler K-18865 can be controlled to dispense filtered water when you want it. It also dispenses both hot and cold from the front handle but not filtered hot water.
can this be used with a reverse osmosis water filtration system
Unfortunately none of the Kohler products are made to be used with a reverse osmosis water filtration system. This will void all warranties applicable
