Does this have a hole in the front end for an overflow in case a kid leaves it on?

The Kohler K-2210-G does not have an overflow. However, the K-2210 itself does have an overflow.

what material are your sinks made of

It depends on the sink. Some are cast iron, some are stainless steel, some are acrylic.
