Smart design for dual flush toiletOK, it's hard to get too excited over a toilet, but I'm very happy with the performance of the Wellworth Dual Flush and would highly recommend it. I bought one and tested it out for a few weeks and was so impressed I bought two more to replace the other toilets in our house.
The design is really smart. I had looked at other dual flush toilets that had push-to-flush buttons on top but that type seemed kind of hard to flush and wouldn't allow a box of Kleenex on top where we usually have it. I talked to a couple of plumbers about the buttons-on-top type (because I'm not a DIY kind of guy and wouldn't be doing the installation myself), and they reported various issues other customers had had.
The Wellworth uses a flush lever in the regular place on the side rather than using push buttons on top. The green lever is nested inside the chrome lever but is maybe 1/2 inch longer than the chrome lever. Depressing just the green lever delivers 1.1 gallons whereas depressing the chrome lever uses 1.6 gallons. Without being too graphic, I can say the 1.1 gallon flush works for all but the biggest flush jobs. We haven't had a single need to flush twice or use a plunger, which was happening way too often with the older toilets we replaced. Kohler talks about it having "siphonic action" and that seems to be true.
It's got a nice look to it and is part of the Wellworth collection, which has been around for a while and was well reviewed. I'm really pleased with how this purchase turned out. The plumber I used to install them said he was going to buy the same model for his home. Don't know if he will but he thought the design was pretty cool.
