Tub Waste 5 5 3 3

Very Versatile We installed this product on a Kohler Villager K-716 tub. We were confused on the specs of what would fit the tub, did not want the lever one recommended by the K-716, and felt this would work no matter once since it is so flexible. The pieces installed easily, using regular 1.5" PVC (the optional set with the bent pipe is not req'd for the K-716 tub). We really like the twist to open/close the drain, it looks very nice. The tub drain/cover lifts out for cleaning/checking/whatever... The quality of this Kohler one was better than similar "copies" at home centers. May 23, 2011

Necessary item If you are purchasing the kohler Bellwether bath tub, this drain assembly is absolutely necessary. It works precisely as Kohler has intended. Too bad it is so much more costly than other overflow drains. January 13, 2011

Am I right in thinking that the 'Less PVC Tubing' version does not need to be a through floor installation nor is it limited to specific Bath Depths, so long as the cable is long enough?

The Kohler K-7214 does not need to be a through floor installation. It will work on bath depths from 14" to 21".

can this drain be hard jointed or must it use a slip joint?

The Kohler K-7214 needs to use a slip joint.

is this a popup stopper?

The Kohler K-7214 is a pop-up drain without the tub waste (drain).

How does this pop-up open and close?

The Kohler K-7214 operates simply by twisting the knob. This manipulates a cable that opens and closes the drain.

Will this work with Kohler Tub K-1142 - already have PVC drain pipe in place from prior tub

The Kohler K-7214 will be fine for this setup.

I am buying the kelston bath faucet, I need a new tub drain and overflow, will this work?

The Kohler K-7214 should work just fine as long as your bathtub is 14" to 21" deep.
