Easy setup
i really don't know why the other guy had a problem installing the unit. Change the plumber not the system. I am not a plumber and I had no problem installing the unit my self with shark bite. I don't think you guys read the instructions right or your plumber does not work with higher end units. Shower is great and looks as good as well.

insane installation
this product should not have been released for manufacture in this state. the rough in head that the plumber has to make and mate to this unit has to be entirely to percise in tolerance. the rough in head should be a manufactured piece that the plumber attaches to the supply. each of the four heads are effected by the slightest offset in rough in and as anyone in plumbing will tell you rough in is exactly that rough. you need to reengineer this product.

A wonderful rain shower
I recently had to re do my bathroom (again because of a leak). I already had the rain tiles for my body jets and had the regular tile for my shower head. I decided to get rid of the shower head for the rain shower. What a great move. It is like being in a rain storm. My wife and I do not want to get out of the shower. It is heaven. My 3 kids 4, 6 and 8 also love to go under this. I actually shower them faster because it drenches them and gets them wet fast. I highly recommend this. I wish I put it in 3 years ago when I first did my bathroom.

What is the ideal ceiling ht. for mounting. I will have a 5'x5' stall with glass going up 3/4 of one wall.
The Kohler K-8030 does not have any installation restrictions. The K-8030 will work for your shower stall.
What is the gal per min max flow, given a 80psi pressure and can it be increased with individual water supplies to each nozzel?
The Kohler K-8030 is rated at 2.5 Gallons Per Minute from each head (so 2.5x4=10GPM); A High flow valve is needed for this.
I got a Leak Shield but its not the right one, how can i get the right one?

What high flow valve would you recamend?
The Kohler K-8030 works well with Kohler K-2971-KS 3/4" rough in. This goes with all Kohler thermostatic/volume control valves.
Is this compatible with the Kohler K-528-K DTV Prompt Digital 2-Port Thermostatic Valve and K-527 DTV Prompt controller?
The Kohler K-8030 can be put into a DTV system.
what is the size of the whole unit?
The Kohler K-8030 is 9-7/8" W x 9-7/8" H x 3-1/8" D
Will it still work without a hi flo valve?
Kohler K-8030 needs a high flow valve like the K-2971-ks. This valve can flow 13gallons per minute while the normal valve like the k-304-k can only flow 6 gpm. The K-8030 uses 10 gpm on its own.
Do I need two lines or one line from DTV valve? What are the benefits of using single or double feed lines?
The Kohler K-8030 has 6 ports, so out bound lines could give you several showering combinations.
can this unit be centered over a 2x4 stud in the ceiling?
Thanks for your inquiry. The Kohler K-8030 cannot be directly centered over a stud with your plumbing supply lines still being able to reach the unit. There is a 5" gap with the pressure balancing loop that your stud could go between, but there is a middle supply as well. Let me know if you have further questions.
