Single Handle RiteTemp Tub and Shower Trim with Rain Showerhead from the Forte Collection
Kohler tub/shower trim package goes plastic
We really like these units from an operational and visual perspective. The thing I'm not happy about is that the trim package, which is supposed to be brushed nickel, is plastic. I bought four sets of these and three of them are indeed metal, but the fourth one was plastic. The retailer checked with Kohler and it turns out they no longer make them in metal. So be forewarned, that you are not getting brushed nickel, but instead are getting brushed plastic. If it weren't for the change from metal to plastic, I'd give it 5 stars.

Simple, classical look
We love the simple classical look & brushed nickel finish. Very heavy material & sturdy construction. You feel it will last a lifetime. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I miss the higher shower pressure in our old shower head. This shower head is better than the rainfall ones we've tried but still not as good as the one we replaced during our bathroom remodeling.

I like this Kohler tub and shower faucet. It's got nice style, not too frilly, just simple and classy. The only thing I didn't like was the pressure from the showerhead. It's very fine and I like pressure. I purchased another showerhead that has more pressure, and it matches the rest of the fixtures.

too little room between hot and cold
I bought this as part of master bath remodel. While the fixture is attractive, feels well made and sturdy, I'm not thrilled with the design. The plumber installed with recommended valve and set the temp guard to the factory default- result: No hot water. Maxed out the temp guard and now have hot water but there's very little room between cold and hot when turning the handle, it's very annoying to try to ever-so-carefully move the handle slightly up or down to get the right temp. I'm also finding we run out of hot water very quickly- much more quickly than with old shower so it's not a hot water heater issue. Also when first installed, I thought the whole thing was installed backwards- as you face the handle, the cold to hot label is on the left. You turn the handle to the right. I assumed the top of the handle would point to the current temperature but, in fact, the bottom of the handle points to the temp. I'm used to it now but seemed un-intuitive at first. It also only turns 180deg instead of close to 360 the way I'd expected it to, which, I think, as I said above, means there's not much room for fine tuning the water temperature.

We bought this set in May 2007 for our new home. It worked fine for about 2 years and then water started to drip down through the base of the handle. Since the plumber said that a part needed replacing, we bought the entire inside of the mixer instead. This worked for about a year and now we are faced with the same problem of water dripping down the wall of the shower.
We have decided to replace the entire shower set with something else altogether.

Stylish yet simple. Definitely get the rough in valve with it because you won't find it at local stores and it's a requirement.
