The Kovacs P5804 can be used with a dimmer however they can not be mounted vertically.

When it comes to the different bulb types for the Kovacs P5804, the halogen needs a bulb cover and the frosted xenon bulb does not. The light output is the same.

To change the bulbs from the Kovacs P5804 you would remove the outer glass and then the inner cube as well to access the bulb.

The Kovacs P5804 is only availabe in the Chrome finish so it has "-077". This denotes the finish and is called the finish code. "-084" is a finish code, although the Kovacs P5804 is not available in any finish other than Chrome.

The Kovacs P5804 would put out 2000 lumens. A 300 watt halogen would put out 4300 lumens. Xenon burns with less heat and last a bit longer, but is more expensive up front.

The Kovacs P5804 is UL rated for damp locations. As long as the fixture is not placed over the shower, it will work great in the bathroom.

The Kovacs P5804 has (4) 40 watt light bulbs that will produce a fair amount of light. So no, I would not worry about losing to much light if mounting above a 5.5' mirror cabinet!
