Advantages of Stainless Steel over Enameled Cast Iron or Fireclay:
Very durable; will never chip or crack
Dishes usually don't break when dropped during dish washing
Due to relative weights, stainless steel is generally much easier (and less expensive) to install
Nonporous; resists bacteria
Neutral color fits into almost any décor - matches stainless steel appliances
Product Technologies / Benefits:
Extra Thick, 16 Gauge Stainless Steel: Short of paying thousands of dollars, 16 gauge is as thick as sinks come (22% thicker than 18 gauge; 36% thicker than 20 gauge). Thicker steel means a stronger sink (hence the lifetime warranty) while also offering a richer and more robust appearance to the finish that is easily discernible from the white-washed, cheap look of thinner sinks.
Premium Grade T-304 Stainless Steel: There are two primary types of stainless steel in the market: T-409 and the higher quality T-304. The difference lies in chromium and nickel contents; T-409 with 11% and .5% respectively, T-304 with 18% and 10%. When added to steel, these two metals prevent oxidation and rust by neutralizing sodium chloride (salt) – a common element in everyday kitchens. While cheaper sinks use T-409, Kraus sinks boast T-304, further lending to the lifetime warranty.
Sound Insulated: Sound insulated steel is commonly only thought of in the automobile industry. There, auto manufacturers use spray-on “Stone Guard” insulation to provide for a quieter ride and protect the steel. Borrowing this technology and adding to it, Kraus sinks use Stone Guard insulation, sprayed over rubber sound dampening pads to create a noticeably lower-tone and overall quieter kitchen sink. It also protects your cabinet from underside condensation drips.
Included Dish Grids (Basin Racks) and Basket Strainers (Drains): It’s a wonder why dish grids aren’t included with all sinks; they serve a valuable role. Not only do they virtually eliminate scratches, they allow the sink to properly drain, preventing sink scum and protecting your cutlery. As with all Kraus sinks, this sink includes the stainless steel sink grids along with the basket strainers you’ll need for installation.
Heavily Certified: Kraus has gone to great lengths to be able to provide you, the homeowner, the rest-easy satisfaction knowing that your sink is certified and listed by all the major product testing boards in the U.S. and Canada. This means that this sink is deemed safe to use and that it meets all applicable building codes. Certifications and listings include: UPC, cUPC, CSA, IAPMO, ANSI and SCC.

Couldn't be HAPPIER!Love, love, love this sink. Super choice. Needed to reduce to a 30" sink to make room for a larger refrigerator and it's more accommodating than my old 33" (cheap, shallow budget model). The price was amazingly competitive with all the home store varieties that were not as heavy a gauge; PLUS it came with the baskets and flanges and sink grates. What a deal!!!!! Arrived in a very sturdy box, and in perfect condition. I would recommend the KRAUS brand to anyone; their quality can't be surpassed. FaucetDirect and all the online sister stores are my favorite home products source, and I'm in the architectural and interior design business.

Perfect double bowl sinkWe are delighted with our Kraus sink. Our base cabinet limited us to a 30" sink and we were worried that it wouldn't be "roomy" enough, but this on is perfect! It's deep and the larger bowl fits even the biggest pans. We had the disposal installed in the smaller bowl and that makes it the perfect prep sink! The fact that it came with the basket strainers AND the stainless steel grates for the bottom of each sink was a real bonus! This one gets a SOLID 5 stars!!!

Awesome experienceI love my sink. It started out as a quest to just find a sink fast to fit my 30 inch base cabinet. What I got was a very high quality sink for a box store price, delivered in just a few days. When it arrived I knew I had something special when I saw how well it was packed for shipment. It even came in its own cloth bag. Then the granite installers were ohing and ahing when the saw it. They said I got a good one and would never be disappointed with the Krause brand. Now that it is installed, it is wonderful. I especially like the stainless grates that sit in the bottom. It is easy to clean, and the deep depth is great!

Extraordinary sink! This sink is superior in every way,...from the product packaging, to the thick sturdy gauge steel, to the generous sound insulation, to the upscale drain basket. The basin grids are more attractive and functional that I thought they would be.
I purchased the sink as part of a total kitchen remodel, and the sink gets as many rave reviews from friends as the granite counter tops! For just a very few dollars more that a chain store model, the difference is extraordinary. Now that I have experienced Kraus, I would not settle for less.

WonderfulAbout a two months ago, I did some research before I bought this sink. Today, I am very pleased with this product. It not only came well protected in its own cloth but all of the accessories that it said it was going to bring did come with it. This 30" undermont 60/40 sink made my kitchen look even richer than what I thought it would. I highly recommended this product to anyone who wants quality at a very resonable price.

KRAUS KBU21 30" Stainless Steel Kitchen SinkI needed a narrow (30" maximum double sink) KRAUS offered a 16 guage (heavier than normal) at reasonable price. Sink manufactured in China (in spite of KRAUS name) & arrived very well packaged via USP & no damage. Protective bottom sink racks are a good add-on. Good quality. Good price.

Incredible value for the priceThis has got to be one of the best sinks I have ever purchased. This one was used as a part of a kitchen remodel. I went with the 60/40 to give the kitchen a different look. Very solid high grade stainless steel. Love the cup like strainer and bottom racks. Only issue was the template. The Contractor advised that the templates are never exact and had to take the sink to make the cut in the silestone.
