Advantages of Stainless Steel over Enameled Cast Iron or Fireclay:
Very durable; will never chip or crack
Dishes usually don't break when dropped during dish washing
Due to relative weights, stainless steel is generally much easier (and less expensive) to install
Nonporous; resists bacteria
Neutral color fits into almost any décor - matches stainless steel appliances
Product Technologies / Benefits:
Extra Thick, 16 Gauge Stainless Steel: Short of paying thousands of dollars, 16 gauge is as thick as sinks come (22% thicker than 18 gauge; 36% thicker than 20 gauge). Thicker steel means a stronger sink (hence the lifetime warranty) while also offering a richer and more robust appearance to the finish that is easily discernible from the white-washed, cheap look of thinner sinks.
Premium Grade T-304 Stainless Steel: There are two primary types of stainless steel in the market: T-409 and the higher quality T-304. The difference lies in chromium and nickel contents; T-409 with 11% and .5% respectively, T-304 with 18% and 10%. When added to steel, these two metals prevent oxidation and rust by neutralizing sodium chloride (salt) – a common element in everyday kitchens. While cheaper sinks use T-409, Kraus sinks boast T-304, further lending to the lifetime warranty.
Sound Insulated: Sound insulated steel is commonly only thought of in the automobile industry. There, auto manufacturers use spray-on “Stone Guard” insulation to provide for a quieter ride and protect the steel. Borrowing this technology and adding to it, Kraus sinks use Stone Guard insulation, sprayed over rubber sound dampening pads to create a noticeably lower-tone and overall quieter kitchen sink. It also protects your cabinet from underside condensation drips.
Included Dish Grid (Basin Rack) and Basket Strainer (Drain): It’s a wonder why dish grids aren’t included with all sinks; they serve a valuable role. Not only do they virtually eliminate scratches, they allow the sink to properly drain, preventing sink scum and protecting your cutlery. As with all Kraus sinks, this sink includes the stainless steel sink grid along with the stainless steel basket strainer you’ll need for installation.
Heavily Certified: Kraus has gone to great lengths to be able to provide you, the homeowner, the rest-easy satisfaction knowing that your sink is certified and listed by all the major product testing boards in the U.S. and Canada. This means that this sink is deemed safe to use and that it meets all applicable building codes. Certifications and listings include: UPC, cUPC, CSA, IAPMO, ANSI and SCC.

Great Farm House SinkThis is an outstanding sink for the money. The quality is very good, and it comes with all accessories. High end german manufacture. It is 16 gauge which is hard to find. It is shipped in a wooden crate that is huge, and very well padded etc. The service at FD was outstanding. The customert service rep I used was nothing short of phenomenal in helping me with issues and problems I had with the first sink. All my issues were dealt with immediately and handled professionally. I would recommend FD to anyone.

Could. Not. Be. Happier.I love this sink. It gets compliments from everyone who sees our newly remodeled kitchen. It's my favorite thing about the new kitchen. It's beautiful, big, and was so easy to install. I wanted to show off as much of this beautiful sink as possible, so I opted for the built-up installation. I love having a sink that is large enough to hide all the dirty dishes in if I don't have time to wash them before people come by! It's also big enough to bathe my 8-month-old son! The grating in the bottom allows the space down there to work like extra counter-top space (something we need!). While washing dishes or prepping food, I can set things to the sides of the sink and they stay up out of the water. I can spray off the bottom of the sink without pulling everything out. So far, I've had no issues with the plastic feet scratching up the sink as other reviewers have mentioned. I matched this sink with the Kohler Simplice faucet in Stainless Steel. They look great together. I also decided not to install the disposal for now. I was all set to put it back in, but the straining basket that came with the sink was just too pretty to set aside. So far, I don't miss the disposal. I have a trash can right under the sink to clean out the strainer and it's not a big deal. I've always had an unreasonable fear of disposals anyway! All-in-all, I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this sink. Love. It!

Lovely sink large enough for many tasks!Love the practical and aesthetic aspects of this sink! My only crticism is that that legs on the acccompanying rack are scratching the sink. Kind of odd because it is there to prevent scratching! I would love help with what I can do to remedy this.

Great sinkI purchased the farmhouse, stainless, single basin sink.
I've only had this sink in for about two weeks and so far I love it.I do use the grid but take it out every night to give the sink a good cleaning. I love the fact that I can wash my big pans very easily, I am happy that I bought the single sink. It looks great with white cabinets and dark gray granite. The first sink came in with a little dent in the front. I called customer service and in two days I had a replacemenet sink.I'm very happy with this company
and my sink.

Excellent ChoiceWe were very pleased with the quick response in getting this farm sink. It was on back order with two major hardware stores. It is just what we wanted and came with alot of goodies that were not included with the other two stores. The kitchen that we are redoing is 50 years old and this sink will fit in perfectly. It's a handsome addition to our new kitchen. Plus the person we ordered it from was great to work with.
