Kraus Glass Vessel Sinks

Glass vessel sinks are handcrafted by skilled artisans. Kraus glass vessel sinks provide an instant style makeover for the bathroom. Each beautiful and versatile model coordinates with a variety of décor styles. The sinks come in a range of colors: clear, frosted, or decorated with multi-color patterns.

Style and Design

  • Universal design principles give Kraus glass vessel sinks the versatility to look striking in a variety of settings: clean modern spaces, softer transitional environments, or eclectically styled rooms.
  • 3 glass vessel sink collections: Nature Series™, Single-Tone and Multi-Color
  • The vessel design frees up counter space, and is easy to install. For added convenience, mounting hardware is included with each sink.
  • The sink surface is polished smooth so that it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Since the trend of mixing and matching textures & materials is growing in popularity, several models have textured exteriors that are also easy to clean.
  • Each sink is compatible with any Kraus glass vessel faucets, including a range of waterfall faucets specially designed to complement the basin with a matching glass disk. These sinks can also be installed with wall-mount faucets.

Manufacturing Techniques

  • Cold Glass: The process of working with glass at room temperature. Some examples of glass produced using this technique are: mosaic glass, stained glass, carved glass, and etched glass.
  • Warm Glass: The process of fusing, slumping, or other kiln-forming techniques at temperatures between 1100 and 1700°F.
  • Hot Glass: The process of blowing glass using a furnace that melts the glass at 2200°F. Once the glass is gathered on the end of a pipe, the artist forms the hot glass using an oven that maintains a temperature of around 1200°F. The resulting work is then slowly cooled in an annealing oven.
  •

    Glass Materials

Kraus glass sinks are manufactured from two different kinds of glass material.

  • Soda Lime: Material used to manufacture what is commonly referred to as “tempered” glass sinks. This is the most common material used in the production of glass vessel sinks currently offered on the market.
  • Borosilicate glass: Material used to manufacture everything from street lamp covers to high-end cookware that can easily go from oven to freezer.

    Mounting

Kraus glass vessel sinks are designed for easy above-counter installation.

It is important to understand manufacturer requirements for mounting your vessel sink. Some brands require a mounting ring, while some brands do not. It is also important to note that not all manufactures include the required mounting hardware (Kraus does).

Kraus round glass vessel sinks rest on a mounting ring and are secured by a pop up drain (does not apply to rectangular sinks).

Most vessel sinks require a 1.75” drain opening.

Vessel sinks coordinate well with vessel and wall-mount faucets.

    Kraus Ceramic Vessel Sinks

Ceramic vessel sinks; The clean look of white ceramic brightens up the décor of any bathroom. Kraus offers a fresh take on this classic material with a series of ceramic vessel sinks. The smooth, non-porous sink surface is scratch and stain-resistant.

    Style and Design

    • The premium baked-on glaze provides a stylish high-gloss finish, and wipes clean for easy maintenance.
    • Kraus ceramic vessel sinks come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The streamlined designs include round and square basins, as well as a sleek tulip-shaped model. Soft curves and crisp lines create simple silhouettes that complement a range of décor styles, from traditional to transitional to modern.
    • The vessel bowls are designed for easy above-counter installation, with a 1-3/4" drain opening for standard US plumbing connections. For added convenience, mounting hardware is included with each sink.
    • Each sink can be paired with any Kraus vessel faucet for a beautifully coordinated look and an elegant, spa-like aesthetic. These sinks can also be installed with wall-mount faucets.

    Manufacturing Features

    • Ceramic vessel sinks come in four different shapes and a variety of sizes. They have a high-glaze cotton-white finish that is durable and easy to clean.
    • Ceramic sinks are manufactured by pressure-injecting a mixture of liquid clay into a mold and allowing it to air dry.
    • The sinks are then removed from the mold and meticulously hand-finished to eliminate any imperfections.
    • A proprietary glaze is applied to the entire sink, after which the sinks are baked in an oven, which gives them their characteristic glossy white finish.
    • Each sink is individually inspected for quality, and immediately packed to be ready for the consumer.

    Mounting

    • Vessel sinks have the added benefit of being customizable. Although most ceramic vessel sinks are installed above the counter, many consumers are now installing the sinks partially recessed, or “semi-recessed” into the counter. This allows the sink to be installed at the exact height that is most comfortable for the user.
    • Kraus ceramic vessel sinks are designed for easy top-mount installation.
    • All mounting hardware is included.
    • Ceramic sinks require silicone to secure to the countertop.
    • Standard 1.75” drain opening
    • Coordinate with vessel and wall-mount faucets
