Kwikset Maximum Series Dorian Privacy Door Leverset

The beauty of this Dorian designed lever is hard to miss, with its elegant design and etched tip. Perfect for bathrooms and bedrooms where a bit of privacy is desired, this knob locks and unlocks with a turn button from the inside, while the outside unlocks with an emergency key.

Interior Rosette has EXPOSED SCREWS and are not concealed on the interior side.
Includes Standard Round Corner Strike Plate Part Number 83796 (Strike Plate is on Door Jamb). For Square Corner Strike Plate See Product: Kwikset 83437. For a T-Strike Plate See: Kwikset 83028.

Lockset comes standard with round corner strike plate and adjustable latch (2 3/8" to 2 3/4").

Good Experience I was looking to replace existing non-locking handlesets with locking ones that matched the rest of the house. I couldn't find them locally at L***'s or H***D**** so I found this site which had both the style and finish I needed at a good price. Shipping was reasonable, but if you go with the default method even though you'll get a link to follow it, it will take awhile to get the link and the estimate or status won't be current. Not enough of a pain to take away a star though. Bottom line. If I decide to replace more handlesets I'm coming back here. September 20, 2010

Really nice design Bought for friend who has lost use of her thumb. The curved handle design allows her to open the doors without having her fingers slip off the end of the lever and prevents the wide sleeve on her robe from slipping over the end of the lever and hanging up. She picked 'Antique Brass' finish to kind of go with some existing dark bronze door fixtures and (to my surprise) these look gorgeous. My only design suggestion would be a 'push lock' instead of a 'twist lock' privacy feature to make it easier for someone with a thumb problem. February 22, 2009

how do i open a locked door?

The Kwikset 300DNL has a privacy key hole on the outside of the lever where you can insert a pin or something to unlock in case of emergency.

is this suitable for outdoor use

The Kwikset 300DNL is not generally considered safe for outdoor use. While it is perfect for bathrooms and bedrooms where a bit of privacy is desired, this knob unlocks outside with an emergency key, which makes it very vulnerable to picking.

is this lever set adjustable for R handed door?

The Kwikset 300DNL is reversible for either left or right hand.

What is "Polished Brass x "Polished Chrome?" Which side is the locking mechanism on?

When the Kwikset 300DNL is shown with split finish it is shown with Exterior x Interior.

On this the Brass side would have the hole and the Chrome side would have the thumb turn.
