This is the Smart Key version which allows you to re-key the lock yourself! Just insert the original key along with the included Smart Key tool and then insert your new key.

From Kwikset's Security series this double cylinder deadbolt, locking and unlocking from a key on both sides, would make any door more secure. Now Featuring the SmartKey Cylinder so you can re-key your locks without needing a locksmith.
- Key it Yourself: Lock is rekeyable by using the included learn tool in less than 30 seconds without removing the lock from the door.
- SmartKey cylinders also feature a stainless steel side locking bar, racks and pins for increased strength and security.

A great purchase
I purchased this lockset for my new doors. I chose the double cylinder because half of my door is glass and feel that it is more secure. I appreciate that it is a double cylinder with the smart-key technology because my locksmith said this option was not available. Now I feel secure in my home and know that if I need to change my locks, I can do it myself and not pay to have locks rekeyed! Thanks for making this possible.

Effective & Inexpensive
We very much like the look and price of this (satin nickel) double-cylinder lock. I used 1/2 of one set to compliment the other half of exterior entry door handle set I installed. Then I used another complete set on a newly installed exterior French door for added security. For the price and look, I would definitely purchase again.

Can this double cylinder deadbolt be left in the unlocked position?
Yes, this can be left in the unlocked position. You will need to use the key on both sides to lock and unlock the dead bolt.
Pulled the key out along with set key before it was changed. Now neither key works. How can I remedy this?
The Kwikset 665-S will need to be taken to a locksmith to reset the pins unfortunately.
Can these be keyed to an existing door handle lock set that is not a Smartkey lock set? My friend needs deadbolts on her doors and the existing door handle sets use Kwikset keys. I want to key the deadbolts to the same key as the door handles, but the door handle sets are not Smartkey locks, just regular locksets. Will it work?
The Kwikset 665-S can be keyed alike to non-smart key cylinders.
Would I be able to buy 3 of these and make them all use the same key with the smart key?
