Nice Quality but... I have several of these handles (along with every other handle in the Ashfield Series). The finish and quality is outstanding. I have only two complaints: 1) the handles tend to droop over time (will not remain horizontal), and 2) the latch sticks, preventing the door from shutting when you push the door closed without turning the handle. Both of these are minor annoyances. The droop is caused by the weight of the handle over time, and is easily fixed by adjusting the handle and tightening the screws. As for the failure to close properly, it works if you turn the handle rather than just push the door to close--easy to do for everyone except for my teenage children. At first the sticky latch occurred on only one door (the most heavily used), but over time the same problem exists on at least three out of 6 handle sets--it does not happen to the non-keyed versions. I love these door knobs! These door knobs and matching dead bolt locks are exactly what we wanted and match our other bronze fixtures perfectly. The service from handlesets.com was excellent from their website to their customer service representative who called to check with me about a request I had made on the website. Shipping was very quick and I actually received the order a day before it was promised. I will be ordering matching door knobs for the interior doors as soon as we start trimming the house! I have 2 1/4" thick doors, Do you offer any option for this door thickness?

We're sorry but, The Kwikset 740ADL is not compatible with doors of that thickness. We do however carry many door handles that would work with doors 2 1/4" thick, although they wouldn't look exactly like this product.

Does this lock use the "smartkey" technology, so that we the customer can re-key the lock ourselves?

The Kwikset 740ADL is not Smart-Key equipped. The Smart-Key version is the 740ADL-S.

What do I order if I want to use this product on double doors? I know I need single cylinder but is the other handle a dummy?

To use the Kwikset 740ADL on double doors, you would need to order this item as well as a dummy handleset. The dummy handleset is 788ADL. You would need to order two units of 788ADL as it is a single dummy. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Thank you.

To make the Kwikset 740ADL work for double doors leading outside, you will need to order a dummy handleset to go with it. The dummy handleset is 788ADL. Unfortunately that collection of levers, the Ashfield, does not come with a square rosette option.

I want a matching set(front and rear entry, and deadbolts). It askes for a key code. Is it possable to get a 1 key fits all set?

When placing your order for the Kwikset 740ADL and any other Kwikset item if you select keyed alike all items will be keyed the same. This means that they will all operate on the same key. Providing a specific key code is optional. This is done in the case that you already have some items keyed and you wish to match the existing keyed items so that the new items work on with you existing key.
