How can I tell if my other kwikset locks are 5-pin or 6-pin cylinders?

There is not a way to tell if the item is 5 pin or 6 pin just by looking at it. If the keycode is 6 digits it is a 6 pin cylinder. The key code can sometimes be found on the key. The Kwikset 800AT-LIP-S is a 5 pin cylinder. You can key a 6 pin to a 5 pin number, but you cannot key a 5 pin to a 6 pin number.
