Universal
Johnson Hardwood Logo

These dimmers are ideal for any home. No matter what type of bulb you use, this dimmer can handle it. Having a universal dimmer ensures you will never need to buy another dimmer.

LED
Daltile Logo

Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are known for being incredibly efficient and long lasting. Lasting 25x longer than a standard bulb. While incandescent and fluorescent lights consist of filaments in glass bulbs or bulbs that contain gases, LEDs consist of small capsules or lenses in which tiny chips are placed on heat-conducting material.

CFL
Mohawk Industries Logo

CFL bulbs are more and more frequently becoming the norm in the American household. With their long life span and bright shades CFL's are always a good option if you want a fixture that performs and saves you money every year. Adding a dimmer further increases the energy savings.

Incandescent
Bruce Logo

Incandescent bulbs are the standard bulb in lighting. Not as efficient as a CFL, but provides a warm yellow light. A dimmer makes up for the increased energy consumption of standard incandescent bulbs.

Wattage

Wattage

Choose a dimmer with a wattage rating that meets or exceeds the total wattage of all the light bulbs the dimmer will control. For example, if the dimmer controls a fixture with ten 75-watt bulbs, you need a dimmer rated for 750 watts or higher. Buying a dimmer that can not handle the wattage load runs the risk of blowing out the fixture.
