Does the Maxim 87842 have a high/low option?

Unfortunately, the Maxim 87842 does not have a high/low option. However, the Maxim 87852 has this option.

Can the light be linked together and hardwired to a socket? Do they have an on/off switch and a high or low illumination setting?

The Maxim 87842 can be linked together. They can be hardwired to a socket, and they do have an on/off switch. You could try to place these on a dimmer, but Maxim confirmed that there would be little effect with the dimmer due to this fixture using xenon bulbs.
