Do the extensions come with the fixture, or do we have to buy them separately?
The Maxim MX 11092 comes with the extensions. If you do need additional extensions, those will have to be ordered as an additional accessory.

Excellent prodect
This double pendant was purchased to go over our eat-in kitchen table. It lights up the table brilliantly and provides extra lgihting for that whole corner of the kitchen. And the fixture matches the individual pendants over the island. I am very happy with my purchase, even though I had to wait almost a month for the back order to come through.

What is the length of this fixture if you only use the 6" rod?
The Maxim MX 11092 with a 6" rod would be 19" tall.
Which is the correct 6" extension stem for MX11092 oil rubbed bronze finish? The stems are not identified as to which light fittings they fit.
The 6" extension rod that goes with the Maxim MX 11092 is the STR10006.
Does this island light have an adjustable height?
This item comes with one 6" and three 12" downrods, so you can adjust the height based on any combination of those 4 downrods.
Is it absolutely impossible to shorten the height? Why couldn't I just cut down the length of the stem?
It may be possible to trim the down rods of the Maxim MX 11092 and shortening its overall height. However, doing this would void the warranty and is not recommended by Maxim. I hope this helps. Have a great day.
