Excellent dining room chandelier Beautiful lighting and craftsmanship. Shades were safely packaged with no deficiencies. Threaded washer nut for wall cap was difficult to install. Remember to have several threads of the ceiling hook revealed when installing the cap. September 16, 2011

Great Puchase! If you like this chandelier in the picture, you will LOVE it over your dining room table. It is so much prettier up close than in the picture. I don't usually buy things like this on the computer, but I am sure glad I took the chance. It was a great choice. I would not hesitate to order from this company again. September 12, 2011

Bold Chandelier I ordered the 5 light chandelier and 3 matching mini pendants in oil-rubbed bronze, vanilla for a newly remodeled kitchen. First, the globes are larger than they look online but still an okay size, second, when lit up, they are speckled (pretty, but nonetheless speckled). A friend stopped by and said, "oh you chose black". I chose them because they look very much bronze-like on the internet, but they look almost black when hung up. Overall, I like the fixtures, but if I knew they were this dark, I would not have ordered - the picture online is deceiving. April 25, 2011

Very pleased! I absolutely love this fixture. We recently remodeled our kitchen and decided on this fixture to hang over the kitchen table. It was delivered right on time...which we truly appreciated as we were on a strict construction timeline. Have to mention that I was leary of the etched glass shades but I was thrilled when I actually saw them. They make the whole fixture!!! Love it! By the way, we also bought the single pendant lights for over the island. September 1, 2009

how do you connect chain to main parts

The chain on the Maxim MX 11244 connects to a canopy which conceals the electrical in the ceiling.

I know the Maxim MX 11244 suggested room is a dining room but how would it look in a foyer over a staircase? Also, in the picture it does have bronze look to it but in a review someone says it looks black which is the color does it resemble more? Thank you very much.

The Maxim MX 11244 would be able to hang in the foyer and would look good but ultimately your decision. The bronze is darker and has a darker rubbed look. It has a bronze tint but looking from a hanging position and the amount of light that reflects off of it could make it look black.

When you order additional chain does the additional wire come with it?

No, it will be chain only.

could this be used as a light attached to a ceiling fan?

The Maxim MX 11244 unfortunately is only made to be used as a chandelier and not to used as a light kit for a fan.

Is it cheap material that just looks nicer than it is

The Maxim MX 11244 is made of iron and glass.

Is it possible to get 6-7 feet of chain with this product.
