Can CFL bulbs be used instead of incandescent ones?
The Maxim MX 5831 can use CLF as long as it is not on a dimmer switch.
How do you change the light bulb?
To change the light bulb on the Maxim MX 5831 you would remove the metal piece at bottom of the glass, and then the glass.
What is the largest size cfl bulb suitable for the maxim 5831?
The Maxim MX 5831 can use a 15 watt max cfl style bulb.
Will they be bright enough for a kitchen if I have 3.
The Maxim MX 5831 has 2 bulbs which if you had 3 in a room that would be sufficient lighting.
does the white and the textured white have the same glass?
Yes, the Maxim MX 5831 in white and the textured white finishes will have the same frosted glass shades.

The replacement glass number is GLS5831FT
Does the frosted globe on this light match the globes on the Maxim Mx 12205 light?
The Maxim MX 5831 does not match the glass on the 12205. The 12205 Has more of an Ivory Finish on the glass. I hope this helps!
