Well worth the effort
I have installed two of these (having bought four) so far. They were both something of a hassle to install and set up--it took several hours each time--but it was well worth the effort. The only problem now is that the two that are installed are so wonderful to use that I am spoiled and it is more annoying than ever to have to fish for keys to open the two other doors on which I have not been able to install the remaining locks (it is going to involve some carpentry that I am not likely to be able to do properly, so I am having to wait until I can get someone competent to do it for me). A piece of advice: believe the instructions when they specify alkaline batteries. NiMH batteries work fine in one of my installed locks, but evidently the other is a little more power-hungry and would not work until I gave up and put in fresh alkaline batteries as instructed. It's too bad, because obviously I would prefer to use rechargeable batteries in all the locks. The specific feature that attracted me is the ability to control the locks via Insteon home automation technology, so that now I can lock and unlock my doors over the Internet from anywhere. If you do this, though, you have to realize that you get no feedback, so that if your command is not executed you will have no way of knowing it unless you are looking at the lock directly. That means it may not be safe to rely on the ability to lock your doors from somewhere far away--you might believe you have locked them when you have not actually done so. One very nice feature is that I was able to order all four locks keyed alike at no additional cost. That applies to the metal keys only--each lock comes with two electronic keyfobs that are programmed like one another, but to get ones from other packages to be programmed to control locks other than the ones they are packaged with requires that they be reprogrammed, which is easy to do.

It seems to have changed
When installed it had a definate resistance as the bolt was thrown from locked to unlocked and vrs.\
It tnow has no resistance and you cannot hear it.
It makes you wonder if it is locked or unlocked.
What is needed is a pushbutton pannel on the outside and still have the range of the remotes

Makes your house easier to unlock when your hands full. Amazing. Bought this as a gift since mine has worked so well.
