Can the extension be cut down to 3 inches instead of 6 inches?
The extension for the Minka Lavery ML 1313 is able to be cut from 6" down to 3". However, it would need to be re-threaded and it could affect the warranty coverage of your item.

Creative solution for the bathroom
We replaced the recessed can lights over the vanities in our master bath with two of these fixtures. Having a high ceiling and different mirror heights above the two vanities these fixtures worked perfectly. The poles, instead of chains (which I dislike), adjusted to the perfect heights. The bathroom is upscaled and these lights add just the right amount of the wow factor without being overstated. Great price, great find and both my husband and I thrilled to have the correct amount of lighting for shaving and makeup.

Can the height be adjusted to this fixture into something shorter or is it standard 61"?
The Minka Lavery ML 1313 does have an adjustable height; (1) 6" and (3) 12" down rods are included.
What is the shortest height it can be?
The minimum hanging height is 25"h
What are the dimensions of the fixture itself?
The Minka Lavery ML 1313 is 38 3/4"W x 19"H.
