So Far So Good I have only had the fixtures up for less than a month, but I like the way they look and seem to be easy to take down for summer dead bug removal. April 22, 2011

Cool in More Ways Than One!! This replaced a halogen fixture that burned so hot it finally gave out, luckily without causing a fire! This one has a similar look and with heat and energy saving fluorescent bulbs. Lights up instantly and gives plenty of light for a 13 x 18 room with 9 foot ceilings. I was a little wary of using fluorescent in a bedroom but the light quality is very nice and natural. I only took off one star because the plastic diffuser is a little shiny when it's off, otherwise no complaints so far! March 6, 2009

great light I bought this light as well as the longer oval type of the same manufacturer and design. It compliments our newly upgraded stainless appliances in our kitchen. It was a great choice, easy to install and of good quality. June 23, 2008

A. I could not find the temperature rating for the bulbs for the The Minka Lavery ML 860-PL in a Kelvin rating however I was able to find a color temperature which is 4200 for the 22 watt bulb and the 32W bulb has a 2850 color temperature rating.

What is the light output in lumens or incandescent equivalent ?

A. The Minka Lavery ML 860-PL uses two lights and the first is a 22W T9 Circline Bulb which produces 1050 lumens and the second bulb that is used is the 32W T9 Circline bulb which produces 2200 lumens.

Rioght now I have a 4 fluorescent light in kitchen area will this light be sufficient

A. The Minka Lavery ML 860-PL has one 32 watt CFL which is compared to a 120 watt bulb. You will probably want a little more light depending on the size and other lighting surrounding the room.

Is this fixture good for a regular sized bedroom. Ceiling is NOT high.

A. The Minka Lavery ML 860-PL shouldn't be enough light for a regular sized bedroom. It only gives off 32 watts of light.

A. The Minka Lavery ML 860-PL is a hardwired fixture, the fixture is 16 1/4" in diameter, you will want the fixture to cover the hole already existing.

Do any of this style fixtures have glass rather than acrylic? What size would you recommend for an 8 x 12 bath with a 5 light fixture over each double sink?

A. No, they all have the acrylic. There's no rule, just whatever you desire. You might want to consider the ML 861 that is 18 inches in diameter, whereas the ML 860-PL is 16-1/4 inches. Either would be good for your bathroom.
