MinkaAire Artemis Reviews

MinkaAire ArtemisThis is the 3rd Artemis fan that I have purchased,
so that in itself should say a lot.
It's extremely stylish and moves a lot of air. I can't say enough good things about this ceiling fan.
There are no flaws in this complete package, but
installation takes time. Please read the instructions carefully. The remote control module needs to be slipped into the very top of portion of the fan hanger! Use caution not to pinch any of the wires, wire nuts, or the antenna! The shortest 3 inch spacer leavesonly an 1 1/2in of space to work.
I strongly suggest that you use the 6 inch down rod.
Not only does it allow additional clearance to manipulate all the hardware and cover plates, but it
provides some much needed air space between the fan blades and the ceiling. Without this short gap, the fan will be unable to capture enough fresh air to
be forced downward.

MinkaAire Artemis Fan reviewThe Pros: The look of the fan can't be beat. Very cool blade design. I have the light kit (halogen) version. It seems very powerful but also very quiet.
The Cons: no remote control---it only has a wall control. If used in a bedroom, you'd have to get out of bed to adjust the light/fan. For such an expensive fan, you'd think it would have a remote. The wall control is easy to understand, but not particularly ergonomic. The little control buttons are so small you have to make a concerted effort to find the right spot to push. (Get your glasses). There is a teeny tiny switch on the bottom of the control that you can push off/on, but you have to really push it with your finger nail to get it to move (after you find it). If you are used to big/easy switches you can slap on/off, this isn't it. The light kit isn't super bright since it only has one tiny halogen, so your room will need more lighting.
Bottom line--this fan looks great and seems to have a good quality motor. The wall control is a little tricky, but i think it's worth it for the design.

fantastic fanthis is a beautiful fan. no store in town had the polymer blades on store models. we were not sure what it would look like. since Lighting Direct allowed for returns with no restocking fee we felt more comfortable. As it turns out they were beautiful. Also, we wanted a wireless remote, which was available for this model

Looks GreatThis fan has plastic blades (I purchased the copper colored version) however the fan looks very classy once it is installed. It makes a good contrast against a wood beam. This is where I have it mounted to. My home is a mixture of scandinavian/art deco and it matches perfectly. The fan is mechanically great too, no wobbles and it's quiet. I wish it put out more CFM. CFM is only satisfactory. This is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Beautiful lines and silent operationSeveral years ago we did a bit of remodeling in our family room, and I spent hours looking for just the right fan for the room. When I saw this one, I knew the look was what I wanted and hoped it worked as well as it was beautiful. I was so happy with it, I bought another for our bedroom. We use the one in the bedroom a great deal during the summer; it is totally quiet and really moves the air...on the lowest setting.
This year, we bought two more for a guest room and my office, which I think speak volumes as to how much we love the product. We use the lights in two of them and use the matching cover plates in the other two.
I can't tell you how many people ask where I got the fans.

Fabulous FanA modern clean design goes hand in hand with the great functionality. My clear acrylic fan is almost invisible while its cooling our family room area. It also has the reversible air control which is helpful during winter times by blowing the hot air near the ceiling towards the floor area. I love this fan and so have many people who have seen it at my house and gotten their own.

Wunderbar! It's a great fan. Lovely and modern. The only caveat is that the clear fan blade scratches easily; so clean very gently.
