A Very Quiet Fan
This is a really quiet hugger fan with attractive blades and a nice brownish, antique light globe. MinkaAire discontinued the Tuscan Patina version in favor of this one (Belcaro Walnut). The housing on this one is fairly dark and we'd have ordered the Tuscan Patina if it was still available. Regardless, we're very satisfied with our purchase.

Beautiful Fan
This fan moves a lot of air, yet it has a very elegant look. The detail on this fan is rich and attractive. It sits close to the ceiling and also provides a lot of light for the room. A great value for the money. I would recommend ordering the appropriate Minka Aire wall switch ($30.92) when ordering the fan unless you prefer the remote that comes with the fan.

Great Fan, love the remote control
I got the fan from LightingDirect in just 4 days. Pleased with the speed of shipping. The fan is well made, quiet, and was a 'breeze' to install. I didn't think that I necessarily wanted or needed the remote that came with it, but now I don't know how I ever got by without one. The remote seems to be a little cheap, but other than that it will do just fine. The fan looks rich, love the style. I did a lot of on-line shopping before I decided on this fan, and I think this is the best well built unit for the price! We plan on getting another one the fall for another room.

Great Ceiling hugger fan.
I have lower ceilings in my new condo and a tall antique bed and needed a fan that was near the ceiling. This fan fit the bill and was rich looking. (Hangs down less than 12 inches.) The glass shade is a bit darker than I expected but dims quite nicely. The remote control is a very convenient feature.

Great fan, as advertised
Quite pleased with fan ordered which was received very promptly. One of many fans installed in a new home with 9 foot ceilings. Very rich looking, yet a great price. Wonderful detail in "carved" base with accent gold coloring. Using in a master bedroom where its quietness is very much appreciated as it runs all night during our warm summers. Have always been pleased with products ordered from Lighting Direct, wonderful company to do business with. Although room lighting switches were pre-wired with dimmers, we elected to use the included remote for our convenience while sitting or laying in different areas of the bedroom. Very satisfied customer.

Never been happier with a fan
I liked the look of the fan and the fact it has remote control. I bought 1 for our den and liked it so much we got two more for our bedroom, different colors. We've had these fans a couple years now, we've just remodeled our den and made room for another in there. That's gonna make 4, couldn't be happier with a fan. Their quiet and very attractive.

Wonderful Hugger Fan
I ordered this fan on Monday and received it by UPS on Wednesday. My husband spent about a hour today installing our new fan. I can't tell you how pleased I am with it. I have an older home with eight foot ceilings so I spent a lot of time looking and researching hugger fans. This MinkaAir Calais fan is exactly what I expected and needed in my bedroom. It is a beautiful, well made, expensive looking fan. The remote controls both the fan speed and the light which can dimmed. I would suggest you go to the MikaAir website and look at the colors of this fan so you will be sure to get the one you want. The pictures there are much bigger and vivid. Again, this is a quality fan and just perfect for a lower ceiling room. Go for it. You will be so pleased you did.

Very nice fan
Nice quality fan. This is the first fan that I have installed, the instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. Took me about an hour to put it up and it works great ! The remote is really handy and works very well. It is perfect for our bedroom. I would definitely recommend this fan.

This is a 3 speed fan that can be reversed with a manual switch on the motor housing.
There are two wires coming off the receiver mounted inside the motor, what do they connect to?
Those loose wirse are suppose to connect to the ceiling. The black wire connects to a hot lead and the white connects to a neutral one.

The WC223 installs by connecting the receiver to the canopy of the fan and the wall control to the junction box on the wall.
