Love this fan!
When we built our home 2 yrs ago, I was unfamiliar with MinkaAire fans. I wanted something sleek with an integral down light & remote control, reversible, easy to clean, quiet but able to produce enough air flow even at low speeds, in an oiled bronze finish. It also had to be available in both flush mount and tiltable down rod models. I searched online for quite a while and then came across this fan. It met every requirement. And the price was affordable!! I have three in my home and have never exeperienced a problem. I love them. So, when we remodeled a house for our daughter this year, I immediately ordered the same fan in a brushed nickel finish for that application. Smart choice! Looks great!

Love it!
This is the quietest fan I've ever had. It fits perfectly into my kitchen--small and compact, moves a lot of air & it's easy to keep clean. Best of all, it looks great!

Very Modern and Smooth
I like the fact that no screws or other holders are seen on the blades. The one light bulb gives plenty of light. The remote works well.

Great fan
This is a great fan. The tiny halogen lightbulb works great. The remote control works great and is also better than installing a dimmer switch etc. We have one brown and one white fan. both great.
Delivery was fast and both fans worked out of the box and had all the parts.

Low air flow
I bought two 44" Concept I fans and can't recommend them. The LOOK really nice, but don't move much air. My cheapo Hunter fans did a much better job at half the price. Sigh.

Clean design
The best feature about this fan is its looks. It is minimalistic with a clean, stylish, sleek, and modern design. It also has a relatively small footprint. The 100W mini bulb produces adequate light for my 12” by 12” size bedroom. Unlike other fans that require the blades to be screwed on the base unit containing the motor, this fan allows for the blades to just slide into the base unit and lock into place – a great feature that cuts assembly time. I was however slightly disappointed that the color of the blades (with a slightly grayish touch) was not identical to that of the base unit (brown/oiled rubbed bronze). This is not a defect but rather the actual color shade scheme of this particular fan. Even on its highest setting, the amount of airflow (air displaced) is not that impressive and hence I strongly recommend that one go with the 52” inch version of this fan that costs only slightly more than the cost of this 44” model. This fan comes with a 3.5" & 6" down-rod but for my 9” ceiling, I would have preferred if the fan also came with an additional 9” or 12” down-rod. The remote is stylish and works flawlessly but I wish there was more space to snug in the remote-receiver in the fan (it is quite a hassle to try to squeeze the remote-receiver in the tight space). The fan has a slight premium in its price to essentially reflect the quality, good looks, and the fact that you get a fan with an integrated lighting in one unit…….with the convenience of the fan and the light being independently controlled by a remote. Bottom-line: If you like the looks of this fan go with the slightly larger 52” version of it as it provides more airflow at only a minimal extra cost.

Can you use a dimmer with the light on this fan?
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 comes with a dimmer. It's recommended you use the one that comes with it. I hope this helps.
do you have to use the light...is there a cover? will this fan be good for a vaulted ceing, room size approx. 14 x 15.
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 comes with a cover if you do not want to use the light. The fan is good to use on a slanted ceiling and will work for that size room.
How do you put a replacement bulb in?

How far are the blades from the ceiling with the 3 1/2 inch drop
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 comes with a 3-1/2 and 6 inch down rod. When using both down rods it'll be 15-1/2 inches and with just using the 3-1/2 down rod it's 9-1/2 inches.
I WOULD LIKE TO ORDER 2 ADDITIONAL 6" RODS? CAN THIS FAN BE USED WITH 3 6" RODS TOGETHER OR IS THERE A LONGER POLE?

This fan will be fine for your slope, you do not need the slope adapter.

This fan can mount on a sloped ceiling up to 45 degrees with the addition of the sloped ceiling adapter, item # A245. There is not a 10" rod but there is a 12" available.
can I use an incandescent bulb? what do I need to do so?
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 cannot take or be modified into using an incandescent bulb because the fitter on the light kit will only take a halogen bulb.
Does the remote control fan speed and lighting?
The remote that comes with the MinkaAire Concept I 44 will control the lighting and fan speed.
We have this fan in white. Would like to have more light from it. Is there a clear glass cover we could buy? Is there a brighter bulb we could use, with a cover, and not have too much heat?
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 uses a 100 watt halogen bulb. Unfortunately there are no other shade or light bulb options available for this fan.
When you purchase the MinkaAire Concept I, do you need to purchase additional wall mounted switch, WC212? You can use both the wall mounted switch and remote, right?
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 comes with the handheld remote so you would need to purchase the WC212 if you want a wall mount control, but you can use both.

With a 3 1/2" down rod, the MinkaAire Concept I 44 is 15 1/2" in height. This would leave 6 foot 8 1/2" from bottom of fan to floor.

The MinkaAire Concept I 44 can be run on a switch. It would be the WC212.

The MinkaAire Concept I 44 which comes with the RC212 does come with the wall holster.
How do you reverse the direction of the fan without a remote?
In order to reverse the direction of the MinkaAire Concept I 44 you would need to use either the remote that comes with the fan or the wall control which is sold separately under model number WC212. Both the remote and the wall control have a reverse switch. There is not a chain or a pull on the actual fan that would be used to reverse the direction of the fan.
I would like to purchase a remote and transmitter for this model fan. Currently remote does not work even with new battery.
The MinkaAire Concept I 44 will work with any MinkaAire universal remote control and receiver. Any electrician can install this for you

Its 2 wire, but it comes with a remote, not a wall control.

How effective is a three blade fan versus a five blade fan?
The Minka Aire Concept I 44 with three blades is just as effective as a five blade fan. It has a CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating of 2600, comparable to five blade fans of the same size.
