Please try harder
MinkaAire's customer service & tech support staff are SUPERB! To my eye, the fan -- in "oil rubbed bronze" -- is gorgeous.
PROBLEMS: (1) The internal receiver that communicates with the remote control was defective. Minka promptly replaced it. (2) The glass cover broke while my skillful installer was trying to carefully install it. A rubber gasket around rim would have prevented this problem, which Minka told me has happened to other customers. Luckily my installer did not cut his fingers. Minka promptly replaced the glass cover at no charge to me. (3) The light bulb is so dim that it can't function as a useful light source. And why is the bulb a hot-burning halogen, when halogens are headed for extinction?
I salute Minka Aire on great service. I urge Minka to rethink this fan's problem features and more closely monitor quality control operations.

A little pricey...
but looks great in white to blend into a white ceiling. No fluorescent for me. Halogen puts out a nice amount of light and is dimmable. With a remote included iIm happy with my purchase.

Quiet and non intrusive fan. I have used this fan with several of my design projects.

Excessive Wobble
I loved the look of the fan but have been unable to get it balanced so that the wobble at medium and high speed is gone. We used a 12" downrod and the electrician thinks a shorter one (provided) would reduce the wobble. Of course I'll have to pay for the labor to replace the downrod and the manufacturer said that shouldn't make a difference. Rather than pay the electrician to try to balance it I'm doing it myself but it is very time-consuming. I wanted another one of these for another room but might go back to Casablanca - no wobble on the 2 we have.

cool fan but...
love the fan but the glass light cover arrived with a crack which quickly broke upon installation.

My husband broke his finger (unrelated to fan) so I had to install it alone. I'm relatively handy so it wasn't too bad. The fan looks nice. The light isn't the brightest but it is not too bad. I'll add an extra lamp to the room for extra light. I bought the oil rubbed bronze and expected the blades to be wood looking. They are made of some kind of plastic. I was kind of concerned that would make it look cheap but it looks much better than I expected. Very clean contemporary look.

Exactly as promised
Fan was exactly as described. I'm not a real handy person but was able to put it up in about an hour by myself. Had a little trouble getting the receiver tucked in, but other than that everything was pretty easy. I love the remote and the dimmer, would definitely order again. Fan is quiet, put's out a pretty good breeze on the medium setting.

Great Fan, Great Price
This fan works and looks great!
I haven't had one regret since I bought it. I had the fan installed at a point in our vaulted ceiling where it was about 14 feet. I purchased a 4-foot downrod and the sloped ceiling mount with the fan. (I believe the "rule of thumb" is to get a downrod to have the fan 9 feet above the floor, but I think it looks better at 10 feet.)
The fan is very quiet...at least compared to my previous fan so I don't know what it technically measures. It moves air quite well. The light isn't a monster spotlight, but I feel that it's quite good. And the remote is very easy to use.
I had electricians come out to install it and it took them about 20 minutes. Seemed awesome to me.
Used a 10% off coupon and got all three items (the fan, downrod and sloped ceiling mount) for a great price.

Looks great, works great
We bought this to replace an old 5-blade ceiling fan in our Master Bedroom with a cathedral ceiling. - We love it - the aerodynamic design is great b/c the lowest setting on this fan moves more air than the highest setting on the previous fan. There are 3 fan settings and the fastest is moves so much air in the room that it moves the curtains. It really helps to keep that room much cooler.
Plus - change directions from the remote!!! When the fan is on (we set it on the lowest setting) you can push the button to change the direction - awesome!
Looks great too - although I thought the blades were also going to be brushed nickel - they are not, they are a flat grey/black matte color.
The light is not super bright - but bright enough - although this could be a concern for someone who primarily wanted it for a bright light.
