Great looking. Wish it were larger Bought this fan for an outdoor, covered patio. It hangs 10 feet + off the ground and I don't think it will have enough wingspan to make much of a difference. I do love the look of the brushed nickel finish and the simple design. April 24, 2011

Can you combine the 3.5 and 6 inch downrods to create a 9.5 inch downrod?

The MinkaAire Concept I Outdoor you can combine the downrods. The just screw into one another.

How can a change the light bulb on this fan?

The MinkaAire Concept I Outdoor has a glass panel that removes to allow for the changing of the bulb.

May the wall mounted control unit be mounted outdoors (i.e., is the wall remote wet rated), or must it be mounted indoors?

The MinkaAire Concept I Outdoor's wall control needs to be installed in a dry location unless you obtain a wet rated cover and box for it.

What is piatra glass?

Yes, you can use the fan with the light turned off as they operate independently of each other.
