Can I control two fans with one remote unit?

Unfortunatley, you would need one remote per fan. The remote does not have the abilty for dual control.

Can this remote control other fans from brands

how do you know if you need a receiver?

You will need a received if the switch says it is a 4 function switch, for this item you would not need a receiver. I believe the best way would be through the MinkaAire catalog, you can find this on their own website, and it will list which need receivers.

Can WC106 be used with MinkaAire Supra44 Unipak Ceiling Fan and light?

Yes, the MinkaAire MA WC106 can be used with the Supra44.

The WC106 appears to control the fan via wires in the wall, not via wirelessly transmitted signals. Is that correct? If using the WC106 to control the Concept II fan, how do we get the fan to reverse directions?

The MinkaAire MA WC106 has a hard-wired three wire installation setup and does not include reverse. You would need to flip the switch on the fan motor for reverse.

Can this switch be used with MinkaAir F510 Space Saver Fan?

The MinkaAire MA WC106 can be used with that fan.
