If the Moen 3170 comes with a valve, why do the questions and answers state that a moen 3170 or moen 3570 are recommended? Is this included with the Moen 3170 or does it required and must be purchased separately?
A. The Moen 3170 comes with the Moentrol valve. You do not need to purchase a valve separately.
What is the difference between the 3170 and the 3175? Also, the dimension from the C/L of my water line to the tile face is 2 3/4 in. Is an extension needed and available?
A. The Moen 3170 is just the trim while the 3175 also contains the shower head. At 2.75" you should not need an extension.
How do I get a replacement for just the round plate with 2 holes?

What valve is recommended?
A. The recommended valve for the Moen 3170 is either the Moen 3570, which has stops, or the Moen 3520, which does not have stops.
Like many retailers, Build.com can choose to set its own prices independently. And even though manufacturers require Build.com and other retailers to display a product's "minimum advertised price" (or MAP), the retailer can choose to sell for less than that. But the price must be conveyed in other ways, and each individual manufacturer's MAP policy determines where the price can be seen.
To see the price for this product at Build.com, you'll need to place it in your shopping cart, and maybe even proceed to final checkout. If you're not ready to buy the product, simply remove it from the cart.
Build.com apologizes for any inconvenience. We'd just like to offer you the chance to save extra money while we adhere to manufacturers' MAP policies. Build.com is also working to educate manufacturers on how their policies impact customers and their buying behavior.
