Is the chrome finish on the 3807cp a polished or a matte finish?

The Moen 3807cp is a polished chrome.

On the Moen 3807 what is the difference view wise between the 5-1/2" & the 5-3/4"?

Sorry we have some conflicting information on this item the dimensions are 5-13/16".

Does "slip fit" mean that it is a compression fitting to 1/2" iron water pipe?

No, it means it is not threaded.
