What is the diameter at the wall?

I just got off the phone with Moen regarding the wall diameter of the 3853. They told me it is between 2.440 and 2.560 inches.

Is this item available with a slip-fit connection?

No, the Moen 3853 is not available in a slip-fit connection, threaded only. There is one that's a 1/4 of an inch longer that comes in a slip-fit is #3857.

Is this item available with a slip-fit connection?

Yes, the Moen 3853 is not a threaded connection and therefore could be treated as a slip-fit connection
