Moen A725 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moen A725 Wall Supply Elbow A required piece for the 4 function shower with slide bar. The oil rubbed bronze finish matches all the other Moen fixtures. The installation is simple. However, you should be aware that the flange that goes against the tile wall is much smaller than a normal shower head flange. You should be aware of this when the tile is cut around the water supply line. My tile man made the cut too big and had to replace the tile. Moen should standardize the size of their flanges. The product looks great though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Difficult to work with It was extremely difficult to flush this piece with the shower wall. There always was a large gap between the wall and the wall supply elbow, especially after the vacuum breaker was attached to it. We contacted Moen, and they said that the water pipes had to be perfectly perpendicular to the wall to make this piece lay flat against the wall because even a couple degrees off will create the gap. My husband ended up slightly bending the vertical portion of the water pipe because it would be too much trouble cutting off the pipes and welding them again. Now it looks right and nice. Make sure that your plumber knows what he is doing(ours did not, so after we fired him we had to figure out everything by ourselves).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice but not worth it This is a nice piece but it is not worth it. It's just a threaded angle fitting. It is overpriced. There are better alternatives. Some two piece assemblies are better for positioning. Higher quality pieces can be purchased for less money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make sure you leave room Make sure you leave room for the piece to be spun when installing it. I almost put it too close to a raised tile trim piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK I bought this because it was nice and simple looking but the install has not been so if you like your stuff to look nice and tight against the wall and not leak you better hope for the best. This required a nipple to connect it which the only nipples I found came in 1/2" incriments which one put it to far out from the wall and the other didn't tighten like i wanted it to

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hand held shower flange This looks a lot better than the fitting that would have just stuck out from the wall! It was a little tricky getting the right size nipple to make it flush with the wall but not diffcult. Looks great and the hose hangs off bottom and is a cleaner look!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wall Supply Elbow - Satin Nickel Worked well & matched well with my separatly purchased Moen Hand Shower. This is a brass plated product, so make sure and use a brass nipple to connect to your copper water supply. Nipple length is a challange to estimate (I used a 1" for my application, which included travertine tile and hardy board interface). Be careful not to tweek the brass when tightening. Use Teflon on both sides, and I used a pipe connected to the output to tighten.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Moen Wall Supply Elbow I ordered this waterway connection and returned it. It was made well, but it just wouldn't cover the hole in the tile. I reordered the Aquabrass square waterway connection and love the look. I'd suggest square to round after looking at both. Don't be locked into one manufacturer for various parts. I have a Moen converter (which I would recommend another manufacturer as the diverter knobs stick way out from the plate), Hansgrophe triple function shower head and arm (LOVE LOVE LOVE This) and Aquabrass square waterway connection and rain shower (love these too). Even though I have three different'd never know don't feel that you need to get locked into one manufacturer so everything matches :-)

  • Is there a special pipe connection for the Moen A725 elbow or just a 1/2 male threaded pipe

    A. The Moen A725 screws on to a standard 1/2" male threaded pipe.

  • How far should the threaded 1/2" male pipe stick out from the finished wall to accommodate the Moen A725 perfectly?

    A. The Moen A725 requires a 1" minimum diameter hole. The connection is 3/8" behind the finished wall.

  • Is this drop ell compatible with the Moen 3867 ORB shower assembly?

    A. The Moen A725 is compatible with unit Moen 3867.

  • Can you please tell us whether this piece has a male or female back piece on it where it attaches to the wall? thank you. Kerry

    A. The Moen A725 elbow's connection to the wall will be female threaded.

  • What keeps water from getting behind the elbow?

The Moen A725 is designed to only be screwed into the pipe, pressed snugly against the wall to prevent water from getting behind it; it is not designed to have silicone applied during install.
