Posi-Temp® Valve: A pressure balancing valve that maintains water temperature within 3° F. Built-in temperature limit stops allow you to control how far the handle rotates, in effect controlling the range of water temperature. The Posi-Temp® offers the best water flow available for any comparable valve.

Great Value I was looking to freshen up my old Moen shower/tub fixtures without breaking the bank. These did the trick! Nothing says 80's more than those old ugly Moen crystal knob fixtures, which is what I originally had. I wanted a kit that would simply replace the exterior parts without having to mess with the existing Moen valves. It's not going to win any interior design awards, but this kit took me 20 minutes to install, was cheaper than any solution my local hardware retailers could offer, and brought my bathroom into the 2000's... Great Purchase We purchased this item for the kids bath/shower combo. It has yet to be installed, but we are very happy with the appearance of the item, it is exactly what we are looking for. The only advice I would offer is to buy the rough in valve at the time of purchase.....the item cannot be installed without it, and I had to search for a MOEN plumbing distributor to find the item on short notice. Do you have to purchase the rough in valve for a cosmetic update or would we already have that?

You would already have the rough in valve. However, you would need to make sure it's for a Moen.

DOES THIS FIT ON THE MOEN-TROL VALVE

No this is a posi-temp trim.

Is there a specific model of the rough in valve for this specific product? Or will any posi-temp valve from moen do the trick?

The Moen TL183 uses the Moen 2510 valve.

Will the Positemp L2353 trim/stem fit into the TL471 valve body or does the whole valve need to be replaced?

The Moen TL183 does not come with a valve however the L2353 includes the valve with it.

I need to replace a tub spout that is screw on...will this work?

The Moen TL183 is an entire shower and tub trim, not just the tub spout. If you need an IPS spout you will need to know the size of the connection first and then we can help you find something.

Will the Moen TL183 fit on my existing moen value that is a Chateau series push pull off operation

The Moen TL183, unfortunately, is not designed to fit the Moentrol Pull On/Push Off valve. It is built for the Posi-Temp valve, which is a twist operation only.
