What is the diameter of the bar? Can it be replaced by the 30 inch bar that is sold separately?
The diameter of the bar on the Moen YB2818 is 3/4" and is compatible with the 30" bar.

18" Towel Bar
Nice product - Moen's oil rubbed bronze finish in this particular line (Eva Collection) is a dark brown with very little red or black, which other oil rubbed bronze finishes often contain. It matches Moen's other Eva collection items perfectly. The bar does seem to be somewhat thin in structure but this is the Eva Collection design and it functions well.

Attachment style
I had never installed this type of wall attachment before. I had a difficult time removing the item when I was not level. I like the simple set screw style.

Beautiful and Strong
I love the design of these units and the finish is great. They went in very easy. The only thing that would have made installation easier is to have a full scale pattern to use for the mounting bracket holes. I also used a small piece of cotton cloth on the end to keep the bar from clicking when putting on and takingg off towels. I am just particular that way. :) FaucetDirect has great customer service and follow up after the sale.

Eva collection shows very nicely in new bathroom! I just wish there was a double-bar towel rack in the Eva design, too!!

Can I substitute a Moen 30" towel bar of 5/8
The Moen YB2818 cannot accomidate a different sized towel bar .
Can I substitute a Moen 30" towel bar of 5/8" diameter for the bar that comes with this product?
The Moen YB2818 cannot accommodate a different sized towel bar.
How do I attach the bar to the wall and can I cut the bar?
The Moen YB2818 18" Towel Bar comes with a Pro Fit Installation System, which includes templates indicating where to install the mounting hardware, which is screwed into the wall. The bar is then inserted to fit the mounting hardware. Also, the bar can be cut, but it will void the product warranty.
Are there any problems installing this on tile?
The Moen YB2818 should not have any issues installing on tile. You will need to have a tile drill bit and use anchors to hold it.
