Can you trim the pegasus 89682 by 1/2 inch?

The Pegasus 89682 is a great choice- the specs say: Place your Pegasus granite top on it with an overhang of 1/2” on the edges...if you do not want the 1/2 inch over hang you might be out of luck. Although a local granite shop might be able to trim it for you-it takes a very sturdy sharp blade to cut granite clean!
