Recessed Lighting Series 6" IC and Non-IC Remodel Housing
Progress Lighting P187TG Poor Quality
My recent Progress Lighting order contained major manufacturing defects (not Lighting Direct sale fault or shipping damage the box arrived in perfect condition) --- 1) loose & missing assembly rivets for electrical box arms (I corrected myself with a pop-rivet gun) and 2) crushed/dented & unseated stamped base can heads to cylinders (I corrected by hammer forming the metal back to round & then re-attaching with rivets). I am disappointed with the hours lost on rebuilding the units --- but could not shut down the job to return parts & wait for replacements. In the past --- I have had good experience with Progress.

The can itself does what a can is supposed to do. Provide a housing for your recessed light. Once its install, you'll never see it again. However, quality means a lot to me and housing was far from a quality product. Very heavy and joints connecting the housing seemed loose. This is no ding on Lightingdirect.com, just this specific product. I will continue to use this site and a purchasing means.

I needed these shipped immediately for a problem with the cans that the electrician had previously installed. This item was not available locally, and the lights called for this specific remodel can. The Lighting Direct customer service worked directly with Progress Lighting to assure that the package was received by 9:00 a.m. the next morning. Terrific service and follow up.

Purchased for a bathroom remodel. The most fabulous electrician ever installed this. I don't recall him cursing at it which is a good sign that it was easy to install.

This is a quality product at a reasonable price. It's made of thick guage metal and not flimsy!

Just what we wanted. Easy to install. Works better that the ones at the big box stores.
