Heat Lamp Recessed Lighting Fixture 4.3 5 3 4
Fantastic Light!!! This light is fantastic. It was an easy install, looks great, and really makes it nice when coming out of the shower on a cold day. I would highly reccomend this light to anyone looking for a heat lamp. The directions were the best I have seen in a long time for a light fixture. They were very easy to read. Defintely reccommend this light April 21, 2011
Great unit for heating the shower on cold mornings I Have been looking for a heat lamp that could be used in the shower. This unit fits the need. September 27, 2010
Good product good product, works as described, built pretty well. Not 5 starts as the rail system stinks just like most canned lights. The insulation sensor works great (has a probe with a temp sensor and heater so it will cut out the power even before the lamp overheats. Just make sure to read the directions June 1, 2009

Can this unit be installed in a shower stall?

can this product be used to take the chill out a bathroom. And can it be installed in an already finished ceiling.

A. The Progress Lighting P6952TG is a great choice for use of a Heat Lamp in your Bathroom. It is UL rated for Damp locations and the 250w bulb will do well to take off the chill. Also, this light is designed in such a way that it does make for an easy and clean installation even in a finished ceiling.

Can a regular bulb be put in this unit?

A. The Progress Lighting P6952TG Shower Lighting Heat Lamp does have a medium based socket so a standard incandescent bulb can be installed but it is not recommended for use with this unit. Also, part of the heating component of the unit is the 250W R40 Heater bulb that it is meant to be used with, using a different bulb would lose most of the heating function.

If this heat/light cannot be installed over shower, where can it be installed in the bathroom?

A. The issue here is the UL rating. This fixture is rated for a "damp" location, which would be the bathroom in general. Over the shower would be considered a "wet" location due to the constant moisture and humidity. Most customers install this just outside their shower enclosure so it heats upon entry and exit.
