Is the antique nickel close to silver? What color are the shades on the antique nickel?

The antique nickel is a silver based color. The shades that are on the antique nickel are a copper color that fade to a solid vanilla.

Does the double hanging chain come to one point or two points on the canopy or base---and how much chain comes with and can you buy additional chain?

The chain mount to 2 points on the canopy. This fixture includes 8' of chain per side. Extra chain is sold in 4' increments, model # M451CH.

Can the fixture be directly attached to the base without using the chain? What are the overall dimensions of the fixture?

The Quoizel DH348 must use atleast a few links of chain to attach to the ceiling. The dimensions of this fixture are 21"(H) x 48"(W).
