Attractive light for kitchen Very nice light. Works well in newly remodeled kitchen. I would suggest having a second person to help install it, as the glass shade is large. I had searched for several days online to find a bronze light that was pretty, gave off sufficient light, had a white transitional shade in our price range. This light is just what we were looking for. November 11, 2010

Do CFL lightbulbs fit in the 21 inch unit?

A. Thank you for your question. CFL lights can be installed into the fixture as long as they have a medium sized base.

Is it a problem to use less than 100 watt bulbs in this light fixture. It says "requires" 100 watt bulbs.

A. You can use bulbs that are less than 100 watts.

Is the top of this unit covered or open? I would like to know if light can shine over the top or only through the glass.

A. The Quoizel GF1721 is going to have an open bowl. This is going to allow the light to shine on the ceiling and provide a better light spread.

My installation location is within 4 inches of a fire extinguisher sprinkler head. Will the (4) 100W bulbs heat the fire detector/cause a problem for the system?

A. The Quoizel GF1721 should be fine on the ceiling in any location. The heat should not be significant.
