I Like this Ceiling Fixture, but ...
I bought this to use as a "front porch" ceiling fixture, that would match seven wall sconces from the same Hillcrest Series I bought at the same time. All these lights took "one-days" work to install by me, an electrician, and his apprentice as part of my house "exterior remodel". All the lights look great and work well. We had a problem with this ceiling fixture (as follows) that took an extra couple of hours to fix, but I wanted to fix it rather than send it back for a replacement. The problem was that the piece of glass (that sits horizontally in the bottom of the fixture) wasn't cut square at the factory and, thus, was slightly too long on two sides. This meant that the glass wouldn't sit flush in the bottom of the fixture because one corner of the glass would hit its corner of the aluminum housing. The solution was to grind away (using a craft mini-drill with sanding/grinding cylinder attachments) some of the corner aluminum housing AND also to try and sand the corner of the glass plate in order to get the glass to finally lie flat in the fixture housing! It is frustrating to have to make these kinds of modifications (and a customer shouldn't really have to), but what other choice did I have but to return the fixture for replacement (or see if the manufacturer would send a replacement piece of glass)? Those options are probably more time consuming and frustrating, right? Anyway, I still love the finished and installed ceiling fixture. I hope my review doesn't dissuade other buyers, but I thought my experience would be useful information one way or the other! See my two uploaded photos of the installed ceiling fixture.

Fast Shipping, good prices
I looked in to buying this light from a local retailer who told me it would have to be special ordered and that would take 7 - 10 weeks. I ordered the exact same light through lightingdirect.com and got it in four business days! I couldn't be more pleased.

Beautiful and Unique
I bought this for the front porch of a 1920's arts and crafts bungalow that my husband and I are renovating. I LOVE the way it looks! It's also made of high quality parts as the metal is very heavy and the frosted glass is thick.
