will this trim work on a 6" can

The Quorum International 9805 is for an 8" unit.

will this work in a 10" housing

The Quorum International 9805 will not work a 10" housing. That would be too big for it.

what is diameter of the interior hole and how does it install?

The interior hole of the Quorum International 9805 is 3 13/16" and it installs by a spring clip that attaches to the can.
