Schlage ORBSchlage quality is great, however, be forewarned that their ORB is actually BROWN not the traditional ORB that every other manufacturer uses. If you want the ORB look, then order the Aged Bronze finish. Andover handles are slightly larger than some others out there, so if you have small hands or children, maybe one of the other styles might work better for you.

Great Product, butThe handles I received were top quality, 5 star. My problem was they were not exactly what I was looking for but couldn't tell from the picture on the web site. The are normal and I don't want to return them. Explanation: My bedroom doors in my house built in 1982 had door handles that lock by pushing in the handle with a slight turn to the right. You unlock them by a slight turn to the left. I like that style more than one where you turn a little lock knob that protrudes from the inside handle. The picture on the web site didn't show the inside handle. I wonder if my old handle style is even made anymore

defective finishIt's a fine lockset, but the oil rubbed bronze finish rubs off and leaves a brown smudge mark on your hands every time you touch it. When I called Schlage to report this, they said it's a "live finish" and that's what it's supposed to do. Really??!! It's supposed to rub off on your hands?? Their reply was "Yes"! So I called HandleSets.com who in turn contacted the Schlage reps and they were given the same lame excuse. I've been using Schlage and other manufacturer's ORB products for years in many different projects and I have never experienced this faulty finish transfer until now. I believe they have a batch of defective finish locksets and can't afford or refuse to recall them, so the customer is stuck with a "live" finish and soiled hands.
Bottom line is: Don't buy Schlage, but if you do, don't wear white.

Interesting ORB finishBought Schlage Andover ORB knobs for my entire first floor when doing a kitchen remodel 10 months ago. The mechanics of the knob are fine. I was looking for an ORB that tended towards the brown side. This knob appeared to meet that requirement. Similar to the experience of other customers, during installation our hands were turning brown. I used Fantastic and cleaned each knob. That seemed to work. Over time a brassy finish started appearing on those parts of the knobs which are handled a lot. Thank to another reviewer - I now know that this is a "live finish" Had I known that Schlage ORB is a "live finish" I would not have gotten ORB. I'm living with it now because of the time and money I put into them. Live and learn
